I have been slacking like crazy lately. But I’ve realized that if I am to reach my first checkpoint, I need to lose another five pounds in about a week and a half. Can I do it? Yes. But only if I clean up my act.
It’s time to get serious again. No more being lazy. No more slacking on the diet. I need to get back to the way I was when I started and I’ll be good.
Tomorrow morning, no excuses. I don’t care how hot it is. Heat just means you’re sweating more. Go for your run. Do your exercises. And two hours of Zumba tomorrow night.
You can do this, baby.
I pushed myself a bit farther on my run yesterday. I’m not up to 1.5km, which is halfway to my goal! I’m surprised at how quickly I’m progressing.
I also decided it was time to add some extra reps onto my routine. I’m now doing 120 crunches, 60 leg lifts, 120 thigh compressions, and 40 modified push ups. May I just say, though, that doing crunches with a sunburn on my lower back was approximately hell.
Last night, Maria and I did two hours of zumba with out favourite instructor, Rhonda. It was a blast. Man, do I love zumba.
Plus, I have to mow the lawn today and then go to work for what could be nine hours. That should burn a few more calories.
Today feels like a good day.
These Daily Updates are becoming less and less daily than their titles would imply.
Well, today I did my full workout. I ran 1.3 km. I’m thinking tomorrow I’ll try and go a bit further. I’ve been slacking lately and I think I need to push myself to make up for it.
Also, I meant to post my first progress photos on Sunday but that didn’t go as planned. I’ll post them tomorrow.
I’ve just been lazy lately and I need to get myself back on track. Today was a good restart workout-wise, though no so fabulous food-wise.
I’ve been having a harder time since I started working. Getting up early to do my workout is really starting to kill me, but I have implemented a new alarm system that seemed to help today. My eating hasn’t been so great, either. I don’t really have food that I can take as a lunch for work and I’ve just been having a smoothie every day. I don’t think the smoothies are too unhealthy, as it’s mostly just fruit and juice, but the frozen yoghurt does worry me a bit. Nothing has nutrition facts on it so I’m not entirely sure what I’m getting.
That’s about it for today. I’m off tomorrow so I should have time to do my workout and give an update, as well as those pictures I promised.
I didn’t do my workout today in favour of going to Comic Con.
I have no regrets.
Not too much to say today. My run felt a bit harder than yesterday. I think it’s because it’s hotter today. But I still went the full distance.
I did the rest of my workout without problems.
It’s easier to do my workout on mornings when I don’t have to get up really early. I think I need to start going to bed earlier so it’s not so hard to get up on mornings I work.
Erik is also over right now and, well, let’s just say we found a way to burn a few more calories ;)
Well, I’ve been a terrible blog runner these past few days, haven’t I?
To be perfectly honest, I’ve been a terrible runner in general.
Today I ran for the first time since Sunday. I thought it was going to be killer because it had been so long but it went surprisingly well. I managed to go another block and I probably could have kept going, but I figured it was best not to push myself too hard. I felt really good today, though.
Also, considering how bad the past week has been for me health-wise I was shocked to find that I’ve actually lost another pound. I’m officially down 10lbs. Go me!
I’ve got Zumba tonight with the girls, which I am very excited about. I haven’t been to Zumba in a week and it just feels wrong.
I did take my measurements on Sunday and I’m still losing inches, which is awesome. I’ll update my stats page in a minute.
Holy Hell, has today been a long day.
I slept at Maria’s last night and this morning when we got up we headed straight for Nia’s. The three of us went on a massive run/walk. It was over six kilometres in total. Pretty intense.
Then we went to the farmer’s market and picked up some delicious locally grown fruit and walked around downtown St Catharines for awhile and got a delicious lunch at this awesome little cafe that I think we should start frequenting.
After that we headed over to the mall because Maria and Nia wanted to start experimenting with protein powder. They got a couple of packets and we went back to Maria’s to make some smoothies. It was around this time that we discovered that protein powder tastes disgusting and is not something any of us want to continue partaking in. Lessons learned, I guess.
Yesterday was a pretty good day. I did my workout and ate right and went to Zumba.
Today has not been so good.
I didn’t do my workout and I had McDonalds for lunch. I’m just in a bad mood today and can’t seem to bring myself to care.
I’m thinking I might do my workout minus the run, though. And I’ve agreed to go to Zumba again tonight so hopefully this day can be redeemed a bit.
Pushed myself a little bit farther today, made it to the lights at O’Neil which is just over 1.2Km.
Then, because I got called off work for the day, Erik and I decided we wanted to go out for lunch so we walked up to Lundy’s Lane. It was a good 20 minute-half hour walk. Of course, we did end up going to Wendy’s for lunch. I substituted my fries for a salad, though, so that’s something.
Of course, now my family is having pizza for dinner.
This whole eating healthy thing is kinda hard when no one around you is doing it too.
But, whatever. I did my full workout today and a lot of walking so I guess it’s not that bad.
Well, I woke up late this morning and didn’t have time to do my workout before work so I figured I’d give myself the day off. I’ve got the night shift tomorrow so I’ve got no excuse not to in the morning. Maybe I’ll push myself that little bit farther on my run to make up for today.
In other news, I’ve lost another pound. Just eight more to go to hit my CGW.
Well, I started my new job today, which is why I’m posting so late. I only just got my lunch break.
More importantly, I actually dragged my ass out if bed this morning at 7 to do my workout. I’m pretty impressed with myself, tbqh.
I ran the full kilometre today without stopping. I don’t think my next push is gonna be quite so far. Just to the lights a street away. Not sure when I’ll make that push, either.
I’ve also given up the 30 Day Shred. It’s not that it was too hard, I just didn’t see the same results with it that I see with my own workout. I’ve lost another pound since quitting the 3DS.
I BROKE A KILOMETRE!
I have finally hit that one kilometre mark on my run. While I was out this morning I kept telling myself that today was the today. Today was going to be kilometre day. But the closer I got, the more I felt like I was going to die. I ended up stopping a bit before what I had decided would be my goal but when I pulled out my pedometer and it told me .96Km I knew that wasn’t good enough. I wasn’t going to get that close and just turn around. So I kept going and I made it 1.032Km.
To me, this is a really big achievement. Just two more to go to get to my goal.
Also, today was measurement day and, even though I’ve only lost one pound this week, I’m still losing inches.
I’m pretty damn proud.
I’ve decided to take today as a rest day. I hear that’s something you’re supposed to do but this is only my second in almost three weeks.
Of course, I might get bored later and decide to work out anyway.
But yeah, that’s about it for today.

I’m almost at a kilometre on my run! Today I went .863km. My old record was .603km so I’m thinking sometime next week I’ll be at 1km.
I just did day 2 of the 30 Day Shred. It’s an intense workout but I’m loving it.
Last night Maria, Nia, and I did a workout video called Billy’s Boot Camp. Now that was Hell. Especially with the three of us trying to do kicks and punches in Maria’s bedroom.
Tonight Maria, Carly and I are going to Zumba again. Can’t wait. Feels like forever since we last did Zumba when it’s really only been three days. I guess that’s what we get for doing five hours of it last week.
